The "Música em Cena - First International Film Music Festival" will takes place in Rio de Janeiro, beginning on May 5th and ending on May 12th. In a rare appearance outside Europe, legendary italian composer Ennio Morricone will open the event conducting a concert of his great music composed for film. The programme will include excerpts from "Il Maestro" masterpieces like The Good, The Bad and Ungly, Once Upon a Time in The West, Cinema Paradiso, The Untouchables, The Mission and Once Upon a Time in América, among others.
The event also includes concerts and shows from brazilian composers Wagner Tiso and André Abujamra, american vocalist/pianist Lisbeth Scott and argentinian composer Gustavo Santaolalla (double Oscar winner for Brokeback Mountain and Babel). Also, yet to be confirmed a concert conducted by Gabriel Yared.
Besides the musical performances, the "Música em Cena - First International Film Music Festival" will feature several workshops and debates with brazilian composers, filmmakers and film critics like David Tygel, Cacá Diegues, José Wilker, Rubens Ewald Filho, João Máximo, Ney Carrasco and Marcus Viana.
