Congratulations to composer Jan A.P. Kaczmarek for his Oscar win for Finding Neverland. This is his first nomination and win. Kaczmarek beat out John Williams, John Debney, James Newton Howard, and Thomas Newman.
The winner for Best Song was given to Jorge Drexler for "Al Otro Lado Del Rio " from The Motorcycle Diaries. He had arguably the best acceptance speech of the evening - singing a little of his song, then thanking the audience (in Spanish) before leaving the stage. Congratulations to all the winners, and the nominees!
