Francis Lai, Academy Award-winning composer of Love Story, passed away yesterday at age 86 in Paris, France.
The composer's other credits include Claude Lelouch's A Man and a Woman (Un homme et une femme) and Live for Live, for both of which he received two Golden Globe nominations in the "Original Score" and "Original Song" categories, David Hamilton's Bilitis, Rene Clement's Rider on the Rain, Dino Risi's Anima Persa, Claude Zidi's My New Partner, Michael Winner's I'll Never Forget What's'isname and Nikita Mikhalkov's Dark Eyes. Lai also received a Grammy Award nomination for his Love Story score.
