Milan Records today releases The Wheel of Time: Season 3 (Prime Original Series Soundtrack) with music by Grammy Award-winning composer Lorne Balfe. Available everywhere now, the album features original music written by Balfe for the hugely anticipated third season of the Prime Video epic fantasy series. Returning to The Wheel of Time universe, Balfe has composed 15 original vocal tracks for the new season, enlisting an innovative and talented group of vocalists, including renowned artists Marti Pellow and Peter Cox, to perform the songs in both English and in Old Tongue, a language specific to the series of novels by Robert Jordan from which the show is based. The first three episodes of the new season of The Wheel of Time are available now on Prime Video, with new episodes debuting every Thursday until the riveting season finale on April 17.
Of the music, composer Lorne Balfe says, "The challenge this season was to have the music mature with the times and with the characters themselves, who begin to come into their roles as pivotal figures in the weave and not just people who are told are important. The colors we have come to know get mixed and matched in new ways, and genres get bent and blended, all woven together by vocal performances that are simultaneously familiar and, thanks to the operatic Old Tongue delivery, fantastic and foreign."
