Daniel Licht, composer of the TV show Dexter, and movies such as Thinner, Hellraiser: Bloodline, Children of the Corn II: The Final Sacrifice, as well as video games including Dishonored, Dishonored 2 & Silent Hill: Downpour passed away on Wednesday after a battle with a rare form of sarcoma.
Born in Detroit and starting his career as a jazz guitar player in New York City, Licht was brought into the world of film scoring by Christopher Young. After working with his mentor for several years, he began scoring several notable movies in the horror genre in the early 1990s. Over the following decades, the composer scored numerous movies and hundreds of hours of television. He received multiple BMI TV Awards for his work on Dexter and Body of Proof. Licht is survived by his wife Hilary and young son Kian.
