Varèse Sarabande will release the Jenny's Wedding – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack digitally on August 21 and on CD September 25, 2015. The album features the original music composed by Brian Byrne, Mary Lambert's "She Keeps Me Warm," and five original songs penned by Byrne, with lyrics by Kasey Jones, and performed by Kristina Train.
"This was a very last minute project that came to me," said Byrne. "The brief was it needed a light score to be written and recorded, and maybe with one new song but it had to be done on a tight budget and in 10 days. That one song turned into five original songs and a new arrangement and recording of a standard!"
In a matter of a few short weeks, Byrne not only composed and recorded a brilliant score, he also composed five original songs, with his wife Kasey Jones writing the lyrics, and managed to bring in Kristina Train, named as one of the "10 New Artists You Need To Know" by Rolling Stone Magazine in their May 2014 issue, to perform many of the vocals. Byrne's friend Colin Devlin of the Irish band "The Devlins" also provided vocals for one of his compositions and after seeing an early cut of the movie Mary Lambert, allowed her original song, "She Keeps Me Warm," to be used as well.
"This was my opportunity to contribute to an important issue in an important time," said Train. "When love wins we win and what could be better than that? I'm so proud of my work on this soundtrack and overjoyed to be a part of a fantastic film."
"Mary Agnes [Donoghue, director] had a very specific idea about the score to begin with and had been working with a temp that had a lot of songs. Not just any songs, iconic songs that everyone knows," said Byrne. "I ended up replacing nearly all of them!"
