La-La Land Records will host a special event at the Arclight Cinemas in Hollywood on June 4, celebrating its 3-disc CD re-release of Jerry Goldsmith's Star Trek: The Motion Picture score.
The event will include a screening of the director's edition of the movie (from its DVD source), live panel discussions, presentations that include exclusive video and audio clips, a CD soundtrack signing, as well as props and costume displays from Star Trek: The Motion Picture.
The event will also include a live demonstration by Craig Huxley of his famed "Blast Beam" instrument, which was used prominently in the film's score and sound design.
Panel discussion guests schedule to attend are soundtrack producer Bruce Botnic, Craig Huxley, composer David Newman, soundtrack re-issue producer Mike Matessino, cinematographer Richard H. Kline and more.
The soundtrack will go on sale to the general public on June 5, but attendees can purchase the album at the event for a special cash-only price of $30. Advance tickets are $17.50 and can be purchased here, or tickets can be purchased at the door for $20.
