Los Angeles, July 2nd, 2004 - Composer and songwriter Billy Martin (www.billymartinmusic.com) today announced his original song entitled "Going Up" is featured in the latest Hollywood blockbuster movie, Spider-Man® 2. Martin's track is a send up of classic elevator muzak and plays during one of the movie's comic scenes. The song was placed by Martin's publisher, Marc Ferrari at MasterSource.
"Billy Martin's compositional skills have consistently proven to be exactly what the major studios require," said Ferrari. "His songs have enhanced the soundtracks of many a blockbuster and I look forward to a long-lasting relationship filled with many more box-office smashes."
In 2003, Billy Martin was elected to the Board of Directors of the Society of Composers and Lyricists (SCL), the pre-eminent composers' group in the U.S. Martin is the first SCL Board Director whose primary focus is music for games. His most recent credits include the Xbox adventure Memorick: The Apprentice Knight for Microids and the computer game Spy Kids 3D: Game Over for Disney Interactive.
Martin is also an award-winning Film/TV composer writing music for media icons such as Dreamworks, Universal, Fox, Disney, ABC, the Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon. His credits include the syndicated TV series Entertainers as well as an additional music credit for DVD animated movies including Land Before Time 6 & 8, American Tail IV, Cinderella II, Lilo and Stitch 2 and Charlotte's Web 2.
