Milan Records today releases 28 Years Later (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) with music by Mercury Prize-winning band Young Fathers. Available everywhere now, the album features original music written by the acclaimed Scottish trio for the third installment in the post-apocalyptic horror film franchise from Academy Award-winning director Danny Boyle and Academy Award-nominated writer Alex Garland. For 28 Years Later, Young Fathers draw upon their genre-fluid sound for a mix of both vocal and instrumental tracks, masterfully weaving together abrasive lo-fi textures and driving percussive movements with intricate synthwork and layered vocal harmonies. The result is a uniquely distinct soundscape that viscerally captures the rawness of the film while powerfully underscoring its emotional resonance.
Of the soundtrack, director Danny Boyle says, "The genre-defying, intuitive sound of Young Fathers is uniquely suited to the world of 28 Years Later. They have crafted a musical landscape that brings an intense, primal energy to the visuals but also heart and humanity to a world that is at once horrific and strangely beautiful."
Presented by Columbia Pictures, 28 Years Later is available exclusively in theaters now
