From the Manufacturer
Dragon's Domain Records presents The John Ottman Collection: Volume 1, featuring music from three scores from the composer's lengthy filmography, including the world premiere releases of Lonely Place and Brother's Keeper, along with a new remastered and expanded presentation of one of the composer's favorite scores, Incognito.
The score for Incognito was released at the time of the film's release. The composer discovered after the recording sessions that a bad Dolby card in the recorder had created a number of digital problems that were never resolved to the composer's satisfaction at the time. Years later, he discovered the original elements and Dragon's Domain Records is proud to present an expanded presentation of the Original score, restored to the composer's satisfaction.
Lonely Place was a short film from 2004, directed by Kevin Ackerman, written by C.B. Gilford and Ackerman, starring Tess Harper, Kurtwood Smith and Tomas Arana. During post-production on Apt Pupil, Ottman was approached by Ackerman to score the film, which he agreed to do when he was available. Lonely Place was a throwback to the classic film noirs of the past, allowing the composer to write compelling music performed by a small ensemble for this fusion of thriller and period drama.
Dragon's Domain Records presents The John Ottman Collection: Volume 1, featuring music composed by John Ottman, including music from Lonely Place andBrother's Keeper, appearing for the very first time on compact disc, along with a remastered and expanded presentation of Incognito. The music has been mastered by James Nelson at Digital Outland and the liner notes were written by the composer himself.
