Digitally remastered and expanded edition. Filmed in 1978 and directed by David Hemmings, Just a Gigolo starred David Bowie, Hemmings, Kim Novak and the legendary actress Marlene Dietrich. Set in 1918 post-war Berlin, the film is a comedy of fascinating and eccentric characters - the story of a war hero (Bowie) returning home from the front. The soundtrack features an exclusive contribution from Bowie, who composed and recorded the 'The Revolutionary Song' between scenes, playing most of the instruments. Three different versions of the song were produced for the film, two featuring Bowie on vocals (parts 1 & 3). Amazingly, despite Bowie's involvement, the accompanying soundtrack album has never been reissued on CD - until now! The original 15-track vinyl sequence has been swelled with seven bonus tracks. Also included are tracks by Marlene Dietrich (this proved to her final film role), as well as hit acts The Manhattan Transfer, The Pasadena Roof Orchestra and The Village People. Annotated with new sleeve-notes by Paul Fishman (son of the film's producer Jack Fishman) and Charlie Brigden.
