From the Manufacturer

The winner of multiple festival awards, Aimee Lagos action thriller 96 Minutes features an urban, percussive and contemporary film score courtesy of composer Kurt Farquhar (Soul Food, Not Easily Broken, Lifted).

Farquhar juxtaposes beautiful and shimmering melodic textures with gritty, sometimes deliberately distorted melds of electronica and industrial sound design. As described by We Are Movie Geeks, "the music ranges from viscerally tense soundscapes to influences of hip hop" and the reviewer also notes that "the composer has clearly brought his own personal experience into the making of this movie."

On the score for 96 Minutes, Farquhar said: "The director Aimee Lagos and I had discussions about the distinctly different worlds that these characters come from...one being a poor inner city environment scared by violence, danger and hopelessness and the other an insulated college campus filled with all the hope in the world. I not only had to balance these two worlds....I also had to create a jarring super dark and edgy world inside the car where the crime was taking place. Another interesting point is the vocal piece that comes in during the final scene and continues over credits. I chose not to use lyrics as I did not want to make a moral choice for the audience at the end. I wanted them to leave the theater still making up their own minds."
